CBT for Weight loss
You can put an end to self-sabotage!
Mind Over Body is a weight loss programme with an important difference. A fit and healthy body needs a fit and healthy mind. This is where Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) plays a role in our weight loss journey. Mind Over Body is based on CBT principles which will provide you with an important and permanent set of tools to change the way you think and the way you behave around food. It is literally focusing on our mind, over our body, to garner the results we are looking for.
After all, what are we without our minds? Our minds are strong and determined but unfortunately, they can also be fragile without the proper nurturing. Our thought patterns can become a hinderance to our weight loss plans. No matter how strong we feel at the beginning, we need to remember, when it comes to changing our attitudes and behaviours, our minds can be a little stubborn. Breaking out of poor patterns which don’t help, and unpromising patterns we often don’t recognise, can create a block on this journey which requires us to understand the whys, the how’s and the fundamental reasons of our weight gain and loss. Which is why, focusing our mindset will keep us motivated and successful in the long term.
Essentially, to effectively lose weight and maintain our new weight, we must train our mind to change our relationship with food. Learning these long lasting and positive behaviour changes, which we will eventually effortlessly implement in our everyday life, will keep us driven on this weight loss journey. Sounds easy, but then I wouldn’t be sharing the Mind Over Body programme with you if it was. Changing our mindset to learn new skills, needs guidance and understanding, all of which you will find on these pages.
Changing our behaviour, especially the long-term, typical patterns of our daily lives, takes practice. Mind Over Body is here to support you throughout your weight loss journey, to teach you these skills and help you make the changes needed to not only lose weight but also build a healthier lifestyle.
The tools within this course are for life. It is a change of attitude which will encourage you to apply these skills consistently. This will enable you to uphold a healthy weight, a healthy attitude to food and a healthier lifestyle by focusing on your mind over your body.
Meet Susi, the founder of the Mind over Body Weight Management Programme
Through extensive studies in Psychology, Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and my own incredible weight loss and fitness journey, I have a professional and personal interest in helping people achieve a healthy lifestyle and lose weight. I developed the MIND OVER BODY weight loss programme to help people stay motivated, deal with triggers, stop the inner voice that sabotages weight loss and put an end to emotional eating. The programme uses cutting-edge psychological tools recommended by The National Institute for Health Care Excellence (NICE) that have been used in International Clinical research. The focus is on building mental strength, changing habits, reconditioning the brain and making changes that lead to lasting weight loss.
Weight loss is complex and research tells us that eating healthy and exercising is not enough to successfully lose weight and keep it off. In order to achieve your weight loss goals you have to address that inner voice that keeps sabotaging your best efforts to lose weight. We have deep-rooted emotional associations with eating and these have a huge impact on how and what we eat. Diet and weight loss programmes that focus only on food and exercise are missing a vital component – they do not look at getting your mindset right to keep you motivated and successful in the long term.
